QR Code Scavenger Hunt at Portsmouth Comic Con 2026

QR Code Scavenger Hunt at Portsmouth Comic Con 2026

Something strange is coming to Portsmouth Comic Con... and this year, Portsmouth Ghostbusters is bringing an extra layer of interactive fun to our display with our brand new QR Code Scavenger Hunt.

As part of Mass Hysteria 2026, our charity fundraiser in aid of Cancer Research UK, visitors to our display will be able to explore Ghostbusters gear, ghost files, display pieces and paranormal oddities in a whole new way.

Throughout the display, you will find QR codes attached to different items. Anyone can scan these codes and unlock loads of brilliant information about the item they are looking at - what it is, what it does, where it comes from, ghost backstories, lore, and what happened to those ghosts and pieces of kit in the wider Ghostbusters universe.

But for those who want an extra challenge, we are also running an optional QR Code Scavenger Hunt.

This is not just about scanning random codes. Participants taking part in the scavenger hunt will begin at the starting point, scan the first code, read the information, and then receive a clue leading them to the next item in the trail. Each stop gives the same brilliant info available to everyone, but scavenger hunt players will also get the next clue and continue the hunt from start to finish.

It is a fun extra challenge for visitors who want to dig deeper into the display, test their observation skills, and fully immerse themselves in the strange and unusual world of Portsmouth Ghostbusters.

What to expect

- QR codes dotted around our display items

- Ghostbusters equipment information and lore

- Ghost backstories and universe details

- Clues leading you from one item to the next

- A fun optional challenge for all ages

- A brand new interactive feature as part of our Portsmouth Comic Con setup

Part of Mass Hysteria 2026

The scavenger hunt is just one part of our return to Portsmouth Comic Con for Mass Hysteria 2026, where we will be raising vital money for Cancer Research UK. Alongside the hunt, visitors can expect games, merchandise, lucky dips, display items, our new interactive Firehouse experience, and plenty of ghostly goings-on across the weekend.
