Originally going to be called the “Pompey Ghostbusters”, Andy bought the domain name back in 2013 and created the logo. Left with a simple landing page for nearly nine years, this whole thing nearly didn’t happen.
Much later in 2021, Andy decided to start the Portsmouth Ghostbusters Facebook group – and it turned into something really special.
Still using the same domain name (why not?), the website took on a new face and the franchise started to grow.
Hasbro Pulse released the Spengler Proton Pack for backing. Andy jumped on board, not knowing it would soon spark a community movement.
When the pack arrived, he filmed the obligatory unboxing and later, modification videos. The YouTube channel started to gain traction.
As people discovered the videos, Andy used them to promote the Facebook group – and it grew!
At the end of 2022, Andy decided to put on a large charity meet-up fundraising for Cancer Research UK – a cause very close to his heart.
Originally planned for a big venue in Portsmouth, three weeks before the date the venue hadn’t confirmed. Andy acted fast and contacted Port Solent.
In just three weeks, with the support of the Port Solent management team, the event went ahead – and it was a huge success.
