Artist Gives Fantastic Four the Ghostbusters II Treatment
Last year, we had a somewhat viral moment when we crossed the streams between Ghostbusters II and Fantastic Four: First Steps, jokingly mistaking Galactus for the Statue of Liberty from the slime-filled 1989 sequel. In today’s feature, we’ve got yet another fun crossover, this time courtesy of artist Troy Austin.
Keeping with the love and by love, we mean “Your love is lifting me higher,” Austin has reimagined Marvel’s first family, including baby Franklin Richards, through the “Fettuccine” group painting seen at the end of Ghostbusters II.
What really sells the piece is the attention to detail. While each member of the Fantastic Four remains in their traditional superhero attire, they’ve been outfitted with robes based on those worn by Spengler, Stantz, Zeddemore, and Venkman. The composition closely mirrors the original image as well, right down to Ray… err, The Thing, holding a small sprig.
