Alberta Ghostbusters Surpass $150,000 Raised for Charity
Weāve got yet another fandom spotlight, this time with the Alberta Ghostbusters, who have crunched the numbers for last year and revealed a staggering $30,627 raised for charity. Even more impressively, the group has now surpassed $150,000 in donations to local organizations since launching formal fundraising efforts in 2016.
Sharing the update on social media, the Alberta Ghostbusters detailed how their 2025 total was split among three organizations: $14,075 to the Alberta Childrenās Hospital Foundation, $14,072 to the Stollery Childrenās Hospital Foundation, and $2,480 to Make-A-Wish Canada.
That Make-A-Wish contribution came from a June appearance at Game Con Canada in Edmonton, marking the groupās first support for the charity and serving as a particularly meaningful milestone in their expanding philanthropic reach.
Founded in 2011 by four original members, the Alberta Ghostbusters quickly made a splash at Calgary Expo. That same year, they partnered with the Ghostbusters of British Columbia at VCON in Vancouver, while membership steadily grew in the years that followed, expanding into Calgary and Edmonton by 2014 and leading to partnerships with other Canadian franchises such as the Saskatchewan Ghostbusters at Saskatoon Expo in 2015.
